Built by a golfer who got tired of guessing.

Why it exists

I've been playing golf long enough to know the difference between a good round and a good score — they're not always the same thing. You can shoot 88 two rounds in a row for completely different reasons, and most golfers never actually find out why.

I'm also a woman playing a sport that doesn't always design with us in mind — from gear that's an afterthought to golf content that assumes a default player who isn't me. That's part of why you'll find brands like Golf4Her on the Gear page alongside performance tools like Arccos — not just because they're good, but because they're made for how I actually play.

I started tracking my own rounds — fairways, greens, putts, penalties — because I wanted to know where my strokes were actually going, not just what the scorecard said at the end. That tracker is what became the Handicap & Stat Tracker you can use today.

Fairway Metrics is built the way I wish golf tools worked: free where it can be, honest about what it is and isn't, and built around actually understanding your game instead of just recording it.

A few things worth knowing

  • The core stat tracker is free to use — no trial, no hidden catch
  • The Handicap Index calculation is a simplified, unofficial estimate — built for personal tracking and motivation, not official competition or club handicap purposes
  • This is a small, independent project — not a big company, not venture-backed, just built by someone who plays golf and likes building things
